Jeannine Word Matthews, 85, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 13, 2018. These are the words left behind as Jeannine wrote them: May 28, 2012 "I was born September 25, 1932 to Stella and Lester Word. "I was married to Robert H. Matthews for 27 years. He passed away in 2001. "I am survived by three children; Kim Massey - the joy of my life; Michael Massey of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Rebecca Parks of Columbia, Mo. I am also survived by my adopted daughter, Lisa Newby, who has added so much peace and happiness to my time here, and the best sister God could have chosen to walk with me through this life - Wanda Brule. "I want to thank the dearest friend I've ever had, Vernitta Love. We've worked side by side at our public library for more than eighteen years. I would not be writing this today had she not saved my life years ago. She has taught me much about faith and the joy it brings into one's life. "Thank you wonderful people who came into the library as patrons. I have loved all of you and cared about each and every one of you. Your joys were mine as well as your pain and troubles. You have meant so much to me and when I reach my new home, I will still remember. "I am grateful for the wonderful staff I have been privileged to work with for so many years. "Now, when you hear that I am dead, don't you believe it. I will just have changed my address and moved… into the presence of God." Jeannine Word Matthews Graveside services will be Thursday, July 19th, 10 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery. Online condolences: FullerFunerals.com.
