Janice Carol Lemons

Janice Carol Lemons, 54, of Cabot, passed away at her home on July 16, 2018. She was born January 9, 1964 in Oscoda, Michigan to Thomas and Nellie Berryman. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Berryman. Janice can best be described in one word, FAMILY. Whether it was supporting her husband as a State Representative, cheering at her son's football games, traveling with her daughter to forensic tournaments, or attending pageants with her grandbaby McKK, she was the ultimate wife, mother, and grandmother. And this love was not limited to her family. She was also very supportive of her closest friends who she also considered family. Never to meet a stranger, Janice always left a positive impression on everyone she met. No matter what she was facing, she always wore a smile. She took that attitude in her brave fight against pancreatic cancer. When she was diagnosed with this horrible disease, she was told that she had 5 months remaining. She fought up until the end, and with God's help made it over 18 months. Shortly after her diagnosis, she told her husband that she did not want to fight this battle alone. She wanted to give periodic updates on social media in hopes that someone could learn of her struggles, and be an inspiration to others. She definitely has been an inspiration to thousands of people. She was also a strong Christian woman of faith. No matter what the circumstances, she always said that God would provide. She loved going to concerts, to which she attended with her husband. She loved cruises to the Caribbean. She loved refurbishing furniture with her husband. But mostly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Janice was the former owner of The Trendy Tulip and co-owner of Lemons Engineering Consultants. She was lovingly known as "Gigi" to her grandchildren. Janice was a member of First Baptist Church of Cabot. Survivors include her husband, Tim Lemons of Cabot; daughter, Erica (Jason) Burke; son, Seth (Meagan) Lemons; grandchildren, Harley and Mackenzie; brother, Jimmy (Kay) Berryman of Monticello; sister-in-law, Linda Berryman of Santa Rosa, Florida; father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Nancy Lemons; and brother-in-law, Paul Lemons.
