Billy Ray Frizzell, 85, of Cabot died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born October 24, 1932 in Chidester to the late Calvin Hoy and Effie Grayson Frizzell. Mr. Frizzell was of the Baptist faith. He, along with his wife, Virginia, owned and operated Double R Florist and many businesses in Jacksonville over the last 53 years. In his life he had many passions including the love of his family, the love of being a private pilot and flying his plane to many great destinations and the fact that through his businesses, he touched many, many people. In addition to his parents, Mr. Frizzell was preceded in death by his brother, Hoyt Frizzell and his sister, Peggy Frizzell. Mr. Frizzell is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Ray Womack Frizzell; daughters, Debra (David) Shumate, Chris (Dennald) Stroud and Karen Abrahamson; grandchildren, Carrie Garner, Scott Stroud, Lauren Martin, Lindsey Abrahamson, Jacob Abrahamson, Bryon Shumate, Duncan Shumate and Rachael Lipscomb; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Charlene Womack Erwin; brother-in-law, Clem H. Womack and a host of nieces and nephews. As a lifelong florist, Mr. Frizzell would have wanted flowers in lieu of memorials. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with longtime pastor and friend, Lee Lawson officiating.
