James "Jim" Lloyd Watts of Coffeyville, Kansas, age 79, passed away on July 21, 2018 peacefully with his family close by his side at Medicaloges of Coffeyville. Jim was born on July 15, 1939 in Hanford, California to Isom and Jessie (Allen) Watts he was one of ten living children. He grew up in mostly in California but the family did migrate to Arkansas for a number of years. At the young age of 18 he joined the US Air Force on January 17, 1957 at Paragould, Arkansas. He proudly served his country for 7 years receiving an honorable discharge in January of 1964. While in the service he traveled all over Europe, while there he had the opportunity to ski the Alps, attended the World Fair. After discharge he settled in the Hanford, California area and started a lifelong career in the refinery and oil business with Beacon/Ultimer Industries. Jim served as the VP of the Oil Workers Union. He traveled all over the US working as heavy equipment operator until his retirement from Scaltec USA Corporation in the Coffeyville Area. On August 5, 1960 he married Clara Dallas in Corcoran, California of that union the family blended with two older sons, Tim and Ted that Jim loved as his own then 3 additional children were born, daughter, Donna; sons, Jim and Steve. The couple later divorced but his relationship with his children continued strong. Jim married Betty Duncan after relocating in Arkansas, they shared life together for over 30 years until their divorce. Upon relocating to Coffeyville he met and loved Sondra Oskison, they shared several happy years together, though life brought different paths for them they remained great friends. Those to cherish great memories of Jim are, his daughter, Donna Watts of Florida, sons, Jim Watts (Tracy) of Arkansas, Steven Watts (Nikole) of Missouri, Tim Curtsinger (Nina) of Washington, Ted Curtsinger (Tamie) of Arkansas, daughter, Serena Taylor (Jeff) of Texas, son, Jimmy Hargus of Arkansas, son-in-law, David Templeton, sisters, Johnnie Mae Ruzicka, Barbara Martin both of California, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, J.R. Lawless, daughter, Stephannie Templeton, sisters, Hazel Watts, Lola Routon, brothers, Isom Jr., Roy, Jesse, Leslie and Phillip. The family has entrusted Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with following through with Jim's wished of cremation. The will hold a memorial service in Coffeyville at a late date to be announced.
