Ernest Wayne Verser of Heber Springs died on July 28, 2018. He was born in Miller, Ark., on June 8,1929 to Blanch (Files) Verser and William Ernest Verser. He was a farmer until Greers Ferry Lake was created. He then moved to Heber Springs where he became a business owner and accomplished mechanic. Wayne was well known in the area and enjoyed the respect and highest esteem of a great host of friends and relatives who appreciated his honesty, integrity, fine principles of character, and vast mechanical knowledge. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Wendal Verser and Della Mae Verser. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Willene (Morris); son Don Verser and wife Sarah of Houston, Texas; son M. L. "Bo" Verser of Heber Springs; Debbie Verser of Heber Springs; grandson Matthew Verser of Seattle, Wash.; grandson Jody Verser and Skyler of Fayetteville; brother Bryce Verser and wife Mary Lou of Conway; sister Edna M. Harmon and late husband Dennie of Bentonville; sister Freeda Cothren and late husband Howard of Heber Springs; sister Norma Lynn Bailey and late husband Bill of Mt. Home; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A service will be held on Tuesday, July 31st at 2 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. His family will receive friends that day from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
