Almalita Lucille Nemits Lynch

Alamlita Lucille Nemits Lynch, 92, of DeWitt, Arkansas, completed her earthly journey on July 28, 2018. She was born on June 14, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois to Mary Bode, who lovingly relinquished her baby daughter to adoptive parents William and Alma Nemits, also of Chicago. She became a younger sister to Leona, who was also adopted two years earlier. Through the genealogy research efforts of Almalita's sister, she later reunited with her birth mother, Mary Bode Goddard, and enjoyed many happy times together. Lita, as she became known, was a 1944 graduate from Parker High School in Chicago and immediately upon graduation went to work in support of the war effort. During this time, she met Seaman James W. Lynch, who was in training at Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) in readiness for deployment to the Pacific. Upon completion of his service, Jim and Lita were married on January 17, 1948. After their marriage, they relocated to Arkansas County where Lita was part owner and bookkeeper for Lynch Air Conditioning and Heating in DeWitt, Arkansas. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in DeWitt where she enjoyed singing in the choir and loved caring for the children in the nursery. Lita was preceded in death by her husband, Jim. It is bittersweet for us to know that they are together again. She was also preceded in death by parents, birth mother, and sister Leona Nemits Linz. She is survived by her children Jeff (Trudy) Lynch of Houston, Texas, Marsha Howe of DeWitt, and Scott (Kris) Lynch of DeWitt as well as her cherished grandchildren Adriane (Will) Ames, Ana (Justin) Parker, Christian Howe, Jaclyn (Jean Benoit) Daumerie, Hayley (Jared) Boling, and great grandchildren Truett and Hunter Parker and soon to be baby Boling. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in DeWitt on Wednesday, August 1, at 2 p.m. followed by a visitation next door in the Fellowship Hall. A private family burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to First Christian Church, the American Heart Association, or your favorite charity. Cremation arrangements by Essex Funeral Home. www.essexfuneralhome.com.
