Iola Frances Elder

Iola Frances Ellegood Elder passed away peacefully at Clarity Point in Fayetteville, June 7th. Born in Weiner Ark. Christmas Day 1918. Iola was raised in Jonesboro by her parents William and Doris Ellegood. She married her high school sweetheart Frank Elder on October 29th, 1940. Over the years, they lived in all four corners of Arkansas and Little Rock, finally settling in Bella Vista where Iola lived for over 40 years. Iola was a founding member of the Bella Vista Garden club formed in 1972 and founding member of the Bella Vista First United Methodist Church formed in 1976. Iola was predeceased by her husband Frank, her eldest son Roland Elder, and her sister Deloris Peterson who recently deceased at 100 years of age. She is survived by her son Bill Elder and Karan of Fayetteville, grandchildren Boyd Elder and Debra, Grace Ann Johnson and Mike, Meredith Hendricks and Peter Nierengarten, and five great-grandchildren. Her ashes will be interned with her family at Walnut Lake Memorial Cemetery in Dumas Ark. at a later date.
