John B. Meyers

John B.Meyers, 98, of Fort Smith died June 14th, 2018. He was born August 5th, 1919 in Morrisons Bluff, Ark. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was part of the Greatest Generation, having served in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II. He was the recipient of four bronze stars. After discharge from the military he owned and operated Meyers D-X Service Station for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ann Meyers, his parents, John and Mary Meyers, sisters Christine Klimpt, and Margaret Schlag, and brothers Bill, Greg and George Meyers. He is survived by four children; Bob Meyers (Becky) of Fort Smith, Rick Meyers (Gloria) of Tulsa, Becky Womack (John) of Bentonville and Ron Meyers (Marsha) of Little Rock. He had 10 grandchildren; Cresta Livingston, Audra Jackson, EO Meyers, Elizabeth Meyers, Amanda Iwama, Jaime Meyers, Susannah Meyers, Katie Baumeister, Callie Dolloff and Nick Meyers. He also had 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. His three surviving brothers are Romie, Joe and Pat Meyers. Rosary service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Sunday, June 17th at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 18th also at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
