Wayman Lee Calhoun

Wayman Lee Calhoun, age 91, of Burnsville, Minn., passed away on June 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline (Holt) Calhoun, granddaughter Amy Melissa Erickson and parents Horace & Myrtle Calhoun. He is survived by his son, Dr. David Lee Calhoun; daughter, Karen (Richard) Erickson; grandson, Adam (Miranda) Erickson; great-granddaughter, Shannon Amy Erickson. Wayman was born in Little Rock, Ark., served in the US Navy; he graduated from University of Texas in 1947 and received his master's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1949. He served as a professor at Rose Polytechnic Institute for three years and then had a long career in research as a Chemical Engineer. He was a Lifetime Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers as well as a 68-year member of the American Chemical Society. Wayman was proud of his work as well as his church and was an ordained deacon in the Southern Baptist Church. He loved family and had a passion for photography. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
