Wilma Laneal Nix

Mrs. Wilma Laneal Nix of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Woodbriar Nursing Home in Harrisburg, at the age of 89. She was born Aug. 20, 1928 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late John Webster Jones and Sue Moore Jones. Wilma married Charles L. Nix on January 19, 1946 and they enjoyed 58 years before his death in 2004. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church until closing and then the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg. She retired from American Greeting Corporation and she loved to fish, cook for her family and was a loving mother to her two sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sue Jones, her husband, Charles L. Nix, a son, Charles D. Nix, two brothers, Ray Jones and Roy Jones, three sisters, Francis Bartholomew, Norma Hodge and Eva Bonham. She is survived by one son, Gary Nix (Cindy) of North Little Rock, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Nix of Harrisburg, one brother, Bob Jones (Ruth Ann) of Trumann and two grandsons, Mark Nix of Harrisburg and Kyle Nix of North Little Rock. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Utley officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, 1-2 p.m. Pallbearers will include Hunter Jones, Ray Michael Jones, Mitch Jones, Brody Heeb and Chris Bonjour.
