Roberta Christine Haynes

Roberta Christine (Chris) Haynes, age 95, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born March 30, 1923, in Greeneville, Tennessee to Robert Roscoe and Sue Ada Cutshall Brooks. Chris graduated from Tusculum College in Tusculum, Tennessee in 1944 and was a teacher until taking a position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee during the Manhattan Project. Here, she met her future husband of 65 years, Harold Collins Haynes. They where married in 1945 and raised their family in Kenner, Louisiana. Christine enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing, as well as watching all sports. Harold and Chris moved to Covington, Louisiana after Harold's retirement, then to Rogers, Arkansas. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. Chris is survived by her son, H. Collins Haynes, Jr. of Pineville, Missouri and daughter, Cynthia Lea Haynes Anderson of Franktown, Colorado. Chris is also survived by 5 grandchildren Hunter Haynes, Lyndall Haynes, Courtney Anderson, Chelsea Anderson Sexton, and Cooper Anderson, as well as three great-grandchildren, Neil, Harlowe and Henley. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Holmes officiating.
