Dorothy Louise Howard, age 66, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord on June 17, 2018, in Springdale, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born August 13, 1951, in Marshall, Arkansas, the daughter of Albert E. and Viola B. Haynes Baker and the granddaughter of Wade and Mary Baker and Willie and Elizabeth Haynes. At the age of 5, Dorothy became a resident of Springdale, where she later met the love of her life, Johny Mike Howard Jr. They were married on March 15, 1968. Years later, their Valentine, Jillian, was born on February 14, 1981. Dorothy loved her family with all her heart and made many special memories with them. Her family was her whole world. Dorothy owned a staffing agency for many years, from which she later retired. She was a member of Spirit of Truth Church in Springdale. She enjoyed oil painting with her daughter, gardening, reading, road trips, weekly outings with her son-in-law and spending time with her family. She is preceded by her husband, Johny; her parents; her grandparents; two brothers, Sherman Baker and James Baker; and two sisters, Francis McAllister and Dellia Alverson. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jillian Howard O'Bannon and husband, Darren, of Springdale; two brothers, Everett Baker and Tanya of Big Flat, Arkansas and Freddy Baker and Jeannie of Gravette, Arkansas; one sister, Connie Randolph and Ronnie of Gravette, Arkansas; special longtime friends, Terry and Virginia Farmer; and many others whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762 with Pastor Roy C. Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Larry Medart, Jon Malloy, Jaime Olivera, Jason Dawdy, Darryl Andrews, and Gary Wages. Honorary pallbearers will be James Huskey, Jim Brotherton and Jonathon Flaherty. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Bearden and staff; Dr. Jackson and staff; Dr. Fish and staff; Mercy Hospital, Regency Hospital and Dr. Anderson and Anna Ellis along with the staff of Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and the many family members and friends who have helped us.
