Marilyn Grace Crow

Photo of Marilyn Grace Crow
A green-eyed beauty who always carried herself with grace and class…No matter if she was working in her flowerbeds, traveling, or giving you her opinion…she always had class. She was giving, on the go, opinionated, detailed, and efficient. She had no problem telling you just how it was! She could be blunt, sharp, efficient, generous and kind all at the same time. Marilyn Grace Crow was born on August 13, 1938 to the late Floyd and Esther (Collar) Webb and was the ninth of eleven children. She is also the ninth to pass on. Marilyn moved to Heaven on June 19, 2018. We can hear the excited chatter going on in Heaven as she was greeted by her siblings, Teeny, Patsy, Sis, Wendell, Bud, Jack, Roy Lee, Son and grandma and grandpa. NO one can talk like a Webb. She never forgot the mischievous antics of her little brothers, Wendall and Wayne. They were always up to something and she would say that their mother would always spank the child that cried and not necessarily the instigator because she had too many kids. She loved to go to town with her dad when she was young because she loved all things "sparkly" and usually managed to come home with a new ring on her finger. The more rings the better! A new pair of shoes would make her eyes shine even brighter and she had stacks of them! She was born and raised in the country but inside she was a city girl. She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Lewis Crow. They met as kids and then again later as adults when they both worked at the Hankins Box Plant in 1957. She wanted to wait until after her 20th birthday because she did not want to get married as a "teenager" and they married on August 30, 1958. They were married by a Justice of the Peace in Benton and afterwards they went to the Snack Shack for a cheeseburger. Hidden behind the trendy dress and sparkle, she had a simple side as well. She became a military wife who followed her husband all over the world. This included traveling to France to join him. She traveled with a baby, a toddler, and a little one alongside her…Mind you she was dressed in heels! She could handle anything! Upon his retirement, they settled in Vilonia to raise their family. On their nights out, she loved to go dancing. She enjoyed working for Rushin Upholstery for over 30 years. She loved her customers and no one ever got anything over on her! She retired for three months and then went back to work. She did finally officially retire at the age of 76. One of her favorite pastimes was a good road trip to Tunica or Helena with her gambling buddies, her sister, Teeny and SIL, Glenda. They could work all day, gamble all night and drive home the next night. She had a generous nature and when she won, so did those around her. She grew an amazing supernatural flowerbed as well as a big garden and loved to share the bounty with family and friends. Everyone always looked forward to her fresh candy corn. Her pantry was always open to the grandkids headed back to college and she had more detergent and toothpaste than Dollar General. And no one could perfect her tray of deviled eggs. She was as giving as she was hard working. She loved her husband, her kids, her grandkids, her siblings, her family and her friends. She also loved a good dessert, cheering on the Hogs, and the Faulkner County Fair, including a ride on the ferris wheel and a corn dog. She was passionate about St. Jude's and was drawn to this organization since the days of the Jerry Lewis telethons. Along with her husband, Lewis, she is also survived by her children, Connie Skipper (Roger) of Cabot, Tammy Busken (Gerry) of Springdale and Eddie Crow (Laura) of Maumelle; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Wilkinson (Josh), Daniel Skipper (Kristin), Drew Busken, Kelsey Busken, Aaron Crow, Lewi Crow, Grace Anne Crow and Mary Louise Crow; five great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Ellie, Reed, Eden and Emery; brothers, Wilbur Webb (Montine) and Wayne Webb (Fern); her sisters-in-love, Floy (Donald) who so lovingly kept pies and banana pudding on hand and food aplenty after the tornado destroyed her home, Glenda (Wendell), her gambling partner in crime, and Marie (Jack), who she always looked up to as a big sister; as well as many nieces and nephews too numerous to list but not forgotten. She would not want all this fuss and emotion going on about her but there is so much to say about her in order to attempt to capture her true essence. As described by her grands, she was a giving, stylish, headstrong, spunky, fun loving Mamaw. They knew her well. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to her special caregivers, Felicia, Ms. Jean and Jennifer for taking loving care of our Mom. Visitation will be Saturday, June 23 beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Interment will take place on Monday June 25 at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to C.A.R.T.I.
