Mary Ethel Gatewood "Mae" Butler was born April 8, 1960 to the late John Gatewood Sr. and Betty Dorse Gatewood of Forrest City, Arkansas. Mary devote 25 years to mentally and physically challenged individuals at Alexander Human Development Center. Mae departed this life on June 11, 2018. Mae was preceded in death by her father, John Gatewood, mother, Betty Gatewood; brothers, Clevelon Gatewood, Robert Gatewood, Andrew Gatewood and John Gatewood Jr; sisters, Ever Easter Gatewood, Luella Mae Franklin, Earnestine Lewis, and Lillie B. Watson. Mary Ethel Butler "Mae" leaves to cherish her long memories to her husband of 42 years, Archie Butler Sr.; her children, Eddie Walker (Chantee) of Indianapolis, Ind., Felicia Nichols (LaQuentin) of Little Rock, Ark., Charlotte Rice ( Antonio Sr.) of Mabelvale, Ark., Archie Butler II of Alexander, Ark.; her sisters, Dora Jean Summage, Nettie Mae Jordan, Pearlie Barley (Jimmy), Louise Crawford, Linda Walker (Eugene); brothers, Earnest White, Edward Gatewood (Gloria), Thomas Gatewood (Darlene); grandchildren, Travis, Eddieion, Alexis, Quinton, Antonio Jr., Braylon, Tyianna, Emaya, Joshua, Emmanuel, LaTorria, Arvin, Donovan, Asia; great-grandchildren, Travis Jr., Libby, Bryson; six extended grand-children, sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleopatra, Pauline (Terry), Frank (May Joyce), Al Thurman, Hubert (Lovie), Herman (Charlene), and Larry (Sharon J.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service for Mary Ethel "Mae" Butler will be held on Saturday (6/23) at (12 noon) at Second Baptist Church-Southwest (6111 W. 83rd Street) in Little Rock with Pastor Percy Gilbert. Burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park and Garden in Alexander. Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the church.
