Abraham Willie Woodard Jr age 54, transitioned early Sunday morning February 25th, 2018. A native of England, Arkansas, he was born on December 18th, 1963 to the late Rev. Abraham Woodard Sr. and late Ollie Jean Dedrick Woodard . He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother Cornelius Ephraim Woodard and his bonus son, Morris "Lynn" Wright Jr. Abraham was taught by his parents at an early age to work with his hands and his head and to be a student of the Word of God. Educated in the England School District, Abraham was involved in sports, woodworking and drama. He graduated from UAPB with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, from Jackson Theological seminary with a Masters of Divinity and also did post graduate work in biblical studies. Abraham accepted his calling to the ministry and began preaching the gospel in1985. Under the mentorship of his late father and other great ministers of the gospel, became a strongorator, a wordsmith and researcher of the Word. His sermons had depth and spiritual analogies. His teaching included vivid historical data and always relayed how our infinite complex God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. He pastored four churches during his lifetime The Belle Grove Baptist Church of Lonoke, The St. Paul Baptist Church of Lonoke, Traveler Rest Baptist Church of Humnoke and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Gillett, Arkansas where he served until his health declined.Pastor Woodard did the work of an evangelist taking the Word to prisoners in the Arkansas Department of Correction where he worked for 13 years, to the neighbors as a United Postal Mail carrier for two years, to the troubled youth as staff team member at Centers for Youth and Families and the England School District. He carried the Word to those in crisis as a Chaplain at UAMS and he taught the Word as Dean of Arkansas County of Christian Education in Arkansas County. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Brenda and their blended family of nine children, Dana, Anisha, Abraham IV, Shanikqua, Monique, Jasmine,Mishon, Marcus and Morris (deceased). His sisters Victoria and Timotheus Woodard, his brothers Raymond, James, and Maurice, two Aunts Eldora Spencer and Johnnie Parks, 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many cousins and good friends, preacher buddies and a host of godchildren and has been the adopted father for many children throughout his career in educational and behavioral services.
