Mrs. Nelle Jenkins Surguine, age 87, of Brighton, Tennessee, formerly of Forrest City, died Tuesday at her home in Brighton. She had been in poor health for the past several years. Mrs. Surguine was born June 27, 1930, in Des Arc, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Loyd J. Jenkins and Eula Mae Hobson Jenkins. She lived in Forrest City until moving to Brighton in 2014, was retired from Planters Bank and Trust Company in Forrest City, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Forrest City. Mrs. Surguine married Charles Eugene Surguine in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by two sons; Michael E. Surguine of Chandler, Arizona, and Terry A. Surguine of Batesville, one daughter, Cathleen Surguine Rainey, and husband, Lloyd, of Brighton, Tennessee, one granddaughter, Sarah Surguine Vance, and husband, John Michael, of Cabot, and two great-grandchildren; Noah Fulton Vance and Nathan Charles Vance, both of Cabot. Services for Mrs. Surguine will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 1 p.m., Friday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 11 a.m., until the time of the service.
