James (Jim) Danner

James Paul "Jim" Danner passed away peacefully on February 26, 2018, in Plano, Texas, after a brief illness. He was born In Little Rock, Arkansas, on July 6, 1952, the son of the late John F. and Lorain Danner of Searcy, Arkansas. A longtime member of First Baptist Church in Searcy, he graduated from Searcy High School in 1970 and from Ouachita Baptist University in 1975. After college, he worked at Camp Carter in Fort Worth, Texas, where he served as camp host during the 1970s and ‘80s; and then United Healthcare in Plano, Texas, for the past 24 years. Jim is survived by brothers, John Mearl Danner, of Collinsville, Alabama; and Mark Danner, of Spokane, Washington; sister, Rebecca Danner Remley, of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces, Lian Remley, of Birmingham, Alabama; Heather Danner Owens and Rayna Danner, both of Center, Alabama; and aunt, Betty Wilfong, of Little Rock, Arkansas. His extended family includes Gene, Margaret, and Ashley Vestal, of Decatur, Texas; along with many endearing co-workers at United Healthcare. A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life was held Monday March 5, 2018 in Plano, Texas. Jim will be laid to rest at Historic Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.
