Raymond Leon Vestal

Raymond Leon Vestal, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born on September 5, 1931, in White Church, Kansas, to Thomas and Charlotte Walker Vestal. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two brothers. Raymond served his country in the US Air Force. Following his military service he worked in several gas stations and garages and then went on to retire as a mechanic from the University of Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Marlene Karnes Vestal; his four sons, Raymond Vestal, Jr, of Mesa, Arizona, Terry Ray Vestal of Cane Hill, Arkansas, Roy Leon Vestal of Denver, Colorado, and Charles Wayne Vestal of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Lorene Prewitt, Lillian Bishop, and Pat McElroy; one brother, Gary Vestal; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home at 4520 N Crossover Road, Fayetteville, Ark. 72703.
