Charles P. Huckaby

Charles P. Huckaby, 82, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born August 2, 1935 in Pine Bluff, son of Perry Littlefield Huckaby and Gladys Davis Huckaby. Mr. Huckaby was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. After serving in the United States Army, he returned to Pine Bluff. He worked for National Bank of Commerce for many years. After his banking career, Charles cared for several people in Pine Bluff, including Trevanion McCauley, Maxine Moore and Bill and Catherine Bellamy. Charles enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques and collecting art. He had such a passion for traveling and antiques that he worked for a time as a travel agent helping others see the world. On one of his favorite trips, Charles flew on the Concord from Little Rock to London, England June 17, 1996. He was able to enjoy his passion for antiques as a currier for Sissy's Log Cabin during his retirement years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Sue House (Howard); and nephew, Dan Madding. Survivors include his sister, Sybil Madding of Pine Bluff; brother, Bobby Huckaby of Pine Bluff; nieces, Joanna Madding and Catherine Garland (Wesley); nephew, Jon House (Teresa); great-nephews, Rhett and Luke Garland; caregivers, Banita, Ruth, Mrs. Carter, Taletha and Donnie; and long-time friend, Abby. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Steve Wingo officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. The family will only receive friends at the funeral home. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Robinson's.
