Pattie Sue Sears

Pattie Sue Sears, 70, died January 26, 2018 at her home in Flower Mound, Texas of natural causes. She was born August 22,1947 in Searcy, Ark. to Jack Wood and Mattie Sue (Speck) Sears. She was a Christian. Pattie was cheerful, considerate and loving, always seeing the best in others. Pattie graduated from Harding University in Searcy. After graduation, she worked for Modern American Mortgage Co in Little Rock, Ark., and then for Savers Federal S & L until it closed. She then went to work for Bear Stearns and its successor, JP Morgan Chase in New York City and Lewisville, Texas, until her retirement in the fall of 2017. Pattie enjoyed traveling and visited all fifty states and much of Canada. In addition, she visited many countries in Europe, both on work assignments and for pleasure, as well as the Holy Lands. She was an avid reader and had an extensive library. She collected art and was a member of museums in Dallas, Ft Worth and New York. Pattie was also an excellent cook and enjoyed holding dinner parties for friends and family. She was a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, NY Yankees and Texas Rangers and enjoyed attending baseball games whenever possible. Following her father's death, she capably and lovingly cared for her mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's, for the last 3 years of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Collins. Survivors include her brother, James (Leah) Sears of North Little Rock, Ark., her sister, Martha Sears Collins of Fayetteville, Ark., nephews, Kevin (Alicia) Collins of Mission, Texas, William Collins of Fayetteville, Ark., Greg (Tammy) Downs of Little Rock, Ark., Darryl (Heidi) Downs of Dubai, UAE, and niece, Jennifer (Dan) Piggott of Pea Ridge, Ark., great-nephew and nieces are Andrew & Sarah Piggott and Kegan & Kailyn Collins. A celebration of Pattie's life is planned at a later date. Memorials for Pattie may be made to Harding University, 915 E. Market, Searcy, Ark., 72149.
