William Raymond Beers, 90, passed away March 13th, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 3, 1927 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to the late Cecil and Rose Beers. He joined the US Navy in 1944 and served through the end of World War II in 1945. He graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1950 and then immediately began what would become a 40+ year career with the 3M Company of St. Paul, Minnesota. He raised a large family of eight children and was a loving father and committed to his Catholic faith. He was a longstanding member of Christ the King Catholic church, a member of the Serra Club, Men of Faith and an active volunteer at Helping Hand and St. Francis house. He enjoyed a life-long passion for golf and was an avid Razorback sports fan. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Sharon Beers, his children, Timothy, Kelly, Megan, Barrie and Andrew, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, Holly Elizabeth, Tracey Louise and William Paul Beers. A visitation will be held at Christ the King Church on Thursday, March 15th at 5 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral and mass will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church on Friday, March 16th at 1 p.m. followed by a reception in the Family Life Center.
