Thomas "Larry" Holcomb, age 71, passed away on March 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fendley, Clark County, Arkansas, near the Caddo River, which he would return to his entire life for the joy and peace the water brought him. Larry graduated from Amity High School. After retiring from Reynolds Cable at age 41, his passion for restoring vintage cars prompted him to open a body shop. Larry also pursued other investment opportunities of building homes and buying and selling property, but nothing excited him more than the negotiation of a good deal. Family always came first. As he set out to have a house full of boys, he was greatly blessed with two daughters, Kimberly and Shannon. Larry's wishes did not go unfulfilled as he was blessed once again with three grandsons, Jake, Garrett, and Bailey, "His Boys". Endless hours were spent teaching them and creating special experiences, which contributed greatly to the men they are today. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn; daughters, Kimberly Sanders and Shannon Holcomb; son-in-law, Mark Sanders; grandsons, Jake and Bailey Sanders, and Garrett Holcomb Carson; sister, Lavone Carson (Cliff); and many precious nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, JR and Cora Holcomb; brothers, Vernon, Lyndall, Charles, Wayne, Gerald, and Gene Holcomb; sisters, Evelyn Allen, Fern Anisworth, Verlon Floyd, and Ruth Partridge; and in-laws, Clinton and Lee Edna Ivy. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. with Garrett Holcomb Carson officiating, with eulogy by Bailey and Jake Sanders. Burial will follow at Free Hill Cemetery in Point Cedar, Arkansas. Pallbearers include his grandsons, Jake, Garrett, and Bailey, along with Bobby Stephens, Jimmy Daniels, and son-in-law, Mark Sanders. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
