Robert Earl Knipple, 90, of Piggott, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Piggott Community Hospital. Earl was born in Blytheville to C.W. and Norene (Evans) Knipple. He was retired from Ferrell Gas Company and was a retired firefighter with Blytheville Fire Department. Earl was a lifelong resident of Blytheville until moving to Piggott three years ago. Before moving to Piggott, he was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and First Church of the Nazarene. After retirement, Earl enjoyed woodworking and fishing, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five sisters, Edrell Trickle, Fannie Davis, Elva Lawrence, Bettye Gray, and Louise Lawrence. Earl leaves his wife, Mary Lou Lovelace Knipple of the home; three children, Penny Veal and her husband Bill of Piggott, Susan Russell and her husband Terry of Russellville, and Richard Knipple and his wife Cindy of Bentonville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17th at 1 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Haynes and Rev. Justin Myrick officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
