Layton B. Garner, 65, of Jacksonville, Ark. passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born September 21, 1952 in Nancy Kentucky to Virgil and Ruth Sheppard Garner. Layton served in the Air Force and was employed by Raytheon for many years. He enjoyed fishing, riding 4-wheelers, watching deer and other wildlife and spending time with his girl Sugar the horse and Heidi his dog. Layton is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughter, Krystal Singleton of Mondovi, Wisc., brothers, Larry Garner (Joan), Linzie Garner (Regina), sisters, Marie Frye (Wayneth) and Janise Whitaker of Nancy Kentucky, sister and brothers-in law, George and Norma Collie of Sherwood, Sharon Hock of Searcy and Lori Sullens of Roland. There are also numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. We would like to thank the staff at the VA for the care he received and everyone for their prayers and offers of help during this time. Other than his brother, Larry, In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your local humane society or veterans group. Larry needs to donate to the Clinton Presidential Library for a brick with his or Layton's name on it, since we never did find the one we and Derf went on the goose hunt for. A memorial service celebrating Layton's life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, with Bro. Larry Ballard officiating. Please share you messages of love, comfort and support with Sandra and her family at www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
