Ethel Mae (Dockery) Terry, age 102, of Fayetteville, died on Saturday, March 24, 2018. She was born on September 17, 1915, in Sunset, Ark., one of the nine children of John E. and Millie (House) Dockery. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ralph; her parents; three sisters, Estella, Opal and Emma; four brothers, Raymond, Loyd, Ralph and Clarence; four sons-in-law, Bill Hulett, Jerry Johnson, Van Ledbetter and Jerry Oates; and two grandchildren, Craig Johnson and Lily Mae Johnson. She is survived by one son, Randall Terry and his wife Gina; four daughters, Joan Oates, Wanda Ledbetter, Darleen and her husband Westzel Terry, and Barbara Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Dockery. She has been a member of Center Street Church of Christ since 1951, where her husband served as an elder for many years. She taught children's Bible classes and was a daily Bible reader until her eyes wouldn't allow it, reading the entire Bible many times. She was well known for her hospitality and delicious food, especially her pies. As long as she was able, if you were new at Center Street church, you were invited to her home. She loved to cook and did so for the Fayetteville School System for about 40 years; completely retiring when she was 81. In her "spare" time she sewed, crocheted and made beautiful quilts. She was a quiet, loving person who loved to spend time with her family. She was a caregiver for many years for her invalid mother-in-law and later for her invalid husband. In her last years, if you asked her how she was, she would say, "fat and sassy". Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at Center Street Church of Christ, followed by burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Memorials may be made to Gospel Tracts International, 2125 N. Center Street, Fayetteville, Ark. 72701. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
