GERALD EARL TURNER was born in Denver, Colo., on August 5, 1939, to the late Orville and Florence Turner. Gerald, at the age of 78, lost his battle with bone cancer on March 27, 2018. Gerald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Politis Turner; son, Steven Turner of Little Rock, Ark.; son, Scott (Summer) Turner of Little Rock, Ark.; sister, Carol (Ron) Burton of Meridian, Miss.; sister, Marilyn Brewster of Little Rock, Ark.; nephew, John Burton of Meridian, Miss.; niece, Ann Carol (Michael) Purvis of Meridian, Miss.; nephew, Jason Brewster of Cave Springs, Ark.; and mother-in-law, Mary Politis of Little Rock, Ark. For several decades, Gerald would take Barbara, Steve, Scott and friends to beautiful Lake Ouachita for a day of boating and skiing, where laughingly they developed whistles and hand signals warning of rough water ahead. Other interests were small woodworking projects, working on his HO model train layouts, fishing and his beloved golden retriever, Brandy. Upon graduation from Little Rock University (now UALR), Gerald worked for Rector-Phillps-Morse for 14 years. He was president and CEO of Lawyer's Title of Arkansas Inc., and was responsible for the construction of the first computerized title insurance records plant in Arkansas. As a real estate broker for over 40 years, Gerald enjoyed working with corporate site locations and negotiating with landlords, which included the approval of several hundred TCBY Yogurt store locations throughout the United States. In the last few years prior to retirement, Gerald was responsible for Alltel's retail locations through the middle portion of the United States. The family would like to extend a special thanks to John Bratton of First Choice Senior Care and all the staff at Hospice Home Care Inpatient for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark., with Pastor Dean Fagaly officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at the funeral home.
