Clema Sue Aist, 79, of Conway, passed away on Tuesday, March 20th in Dallas. She was born Clema Sue Melton on July 30,1938 in Briggsville, Ark., to Opal and Mary Melton. Grandma Sue met her husband to be, Art Aist, in Little Rock as an employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She went on to work at Hendrix College and the University of Central Arkansas, retiring as an administrative assistant to the Dean of the College. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, a brother, Lonnie Melton, and a grandson, Connor Aist. Survivors include three children, Karen (Keith) Moix, of Greenbrier, Mike (Kay) Aist of Cabot, and Marty (Rhonda) Aist of Conway, a sister, Kay (Dennis) Duggan of De Queen, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31st at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1075 Hogan Lane, in Conway. In lieu of flowers, she'd like a contribution to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Ark.
