Ray Buttram

Raymond Buttram, 86, of Avoca, Ark., died May 9, 2018. He was born Jan. 9, 1932 in Rogers to Harry and Louise Buttram. Ray married Jackie Ruddell in 1951 in Rogers and worked in the automotive business before being drafted into the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After an honorable discharge he returned to Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas graduating in 1961. After graduation he worked for Walker Manufacturing of Racine, Wis., for over 30 years. Living in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas, Ray and Jackie moved back to Avoca upon retirement. Him to hunt and fish with old friends and her to work in the garden. Ray is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Jackie, a daughter, Leslie Rae Beltz of Grand Island, Neb., a grand-daughter Dana Deyle and her husband Luke of Lincoln, Neb., two grandchildren, Tripp and Sloane Deyle and a brother Dale and his wife Joy of Avoca. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Ruddell Buttram and his parents. A private gathering of immediate family will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benton County Memorial Park Rogers, Ark.
