Mamie Doris Pettey

Mamie Doris Pettey was born August 28, 1933 in Hazen, Arkansas to Ila Victoria Paris and David Roscoe Loudermilk. She passed away May 12, 2018 in Katy, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jason J. Pettey. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a loving and devoted wife and mother, and made friends everywhere she went. Following her graduation as valedictorian of her class at Hazen, she went on to State Teacher's College in Conway. She did not return for her sophomore year, instead marrying Jason on August 31, 1952. After raising three sons, she began working for the State of Arkansas State Income Tax Division, where she worked first as a key-punch operator and retiring as the supervisor of Data Entry. She is survived by her three sons: Bruce (Chrisila) of Eagleville, Tenn., Jay (Glenese) of Kenai, Alaska, and Phillip (Missy) of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Loudermilk of Bullhead City, Ariz., and by eight grandchildren and six great-grandsons. She was a dedicated servant of the Levy Church of Christ while she was a resident of NLR. While there, she taught 2-year olds for 40 years. After moving to Katy, Texas, she was a faithful member of the Cinco Ranch church of Katy, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harvey Rebuild Fund of the Cinco Ranch Church of Christ, 6655 S Mason Rd, Katy, Texas, 77450, which was heavily damaged by hurricane flood waters. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, with funeral service following at 11 a.m. at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., North Little Rock, Ark., 72114. Burial will be at Pepper's Lake Cemetery in DeVall's Bluff at 3 p.m.
