MSgt Arden Powell Andrews

MSgt Arden Powell Andrews, 81 retired USAF passed away April 27, 2018 in Birmingham Ala. He was pre-deceased by his father Alvin Forrest Andrews and his sister Ada Patricia Andrews. His military career of 22+ years included being in an Atlas Missile silo during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 and serving in the Vietnam War. His last assignment was managing the implementation of the communications systems in the new 747s being brought into the Presidential fleet in the mid-1970s. He retired one more time after a 20+ year career for the State of Arkansas. He is survived by his mother Mary Charlotte Blount, age 105, his son Keith Andrews (Nancy), two daughters Mary Lowe (John) and Julie Andrews, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. His ashes will be laid to rest with a military honor ceremony at 12 noon Friday May 25, 2018 in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery located at 1501 Maryland Ave West, NLR, Ark., 35216. With a celebration of life for family and friends following at the US Pizza Company, 4001 McCain Park, NLR, Ark., 35216, 1:00 until 4:00 pm.
