Claude Victor Nicholson, 69 transitioned May 15, 2018. Claude was born December 16, 1948 in Dermott, Ark., to the late Johnnie & Josephine Nicholson, he was a graduate of Chicot County High School, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (AM&N). Graduate of Howard Law School. He served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War 1970-1972 serving as a Military Police. Claude served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio in the Medicaid Fraud Division. He was a member of The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents. Sisters Janice Morris and Lola Bailey. He is survived by son Carlos Jasper (Audrey) North Little Rock, Grandchildren: Kayla Hurst, Benton Harbor Michigan Alana Jasper, Nahtali Horton, Camryn Bland, Julien Jasper, Zoe Holland, Madison Jasper, Torian Jasper. Brothers: James Nicholson, Monticello, Ark., Pastors Fred Nicholson (George Ann), Joseph Carlock, Hots Springs, Ark., Louis Carlock (Julia), Sisters: Erma Bayley (Allan), Ella Anderson, Little Rock, Ark., Mildred Tyler, Dermott, Ark., Special Aunt Mattie Parker, Jonesboro, Georgia, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins. He was married to Dr. Barbara Nicholson, they have remained friends until his death. The Family will remember Claude for his witty sense of humor and always as an encourager to the younger generation to set high goals, he was an avid reader and loved to travel. He had started taking trips that involved his Grandchildren and their Grandmother. Claude really enjoyed this Family time. He always enjoyed coming to the Family Reunion each year. He loved teasing the younger nephews always in a manner that's always funny. Claude will be deeply and sadly missed by ALL of us. He had a compassionate side that always wanted to make sure his siblings were ok and doing well. God has picked a beautiful flower, Gardenia whose scent we will always be able to smell. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. located Tabernacle Baptist Church 1109 North School, (870) 538-9659.
