Bobby Lee Trickey

Bobby Lee Trickey, 65, died on May 25, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas, due to post-surgical complications following a redo of his 1995 heart bypass. Mr. Trickey was born in Lonoke, Arkansas on July 18, 1952, to William Jessie Trickey and Polly Anna (née Tomlinson) Trickey. In high school, he was Senior Class Vice President and played football, basketball, and ran track. He was quoted in his high school yearbook, "Greater men have lived, but I doubt it." Bobby received his B.A. in accounting from Harding University. He worked as a CPA and a computer specialist, and whether everyone knew it or not, he was always the smartest man in the room. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, reading, and hunting. In his later years, he continued to be an avid reader and enjoyed watching television (including expert analysis of Project Runway), listening to music (his eclectic Spotify playlists were the soundtrack to many a poker game), and putting together jigsaw puzzles with his family (including an epic 9000-piece challenge last year that broke the will of his entire family). The highlight of his week was playing dominoes with his buddies at Bevis's lake house, where he wished for his ashes to be spread. He was best known for his southern cooking, and if you've never had his coleslaw, smoked brisket, fried fish, meatloaf, or dragon eggs, then he probably didn't like you very much! If he did like you, he liked you forever, his loyalty and generosity the traits his friends will most remember. He was also known for his sense of humor, and never missed an opportunity to make a snide comment at your expense, with a mischievous grin creeping across his mouth. Mr. Trickey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Katherine (née Hunt) Trickey; his daughters Mona (James) Griffin and Rita (Jason) Ashlock; his siblings Bill Trickey, Dinecia (Randy) Zeps, and Phyllis Lynn; and his cats Levi, Jake, and Elijah. Mr. Trickey was a member of the Somers Avenue Church of Christ. Donations may be made in his name to 4801 Somers Ave, North Little Rock, Ark.,72116. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will start at 10:00 am. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
