Rev. Stephen Mark Swain, 60, of Cabot, Arkansas died suddenly on May 22, 2018 from cardiac arrest. Born to Sara Katherine Swain and William Jesse Swain on August 20, 1957 in Burlington, N.C. Steve followed in his father's footsteps and was ordained an Assemblies of God minister in 1985. He excelled in professional youth and music ministry until 2009 when he traded his sheet music for spreadsheets putting his considerable computer skills to work as the Mental Health Coordinator at Pathfinder, Inc. in Jacksonville, Arkansas and as the Financial Administrator at The Assembly in Cabot, Arkansas. Whether it be as a pastor, choir director, accountant, friend, or brother, there was not a more trusted or reliable soul to be found. His friends and family will miss the abandon with which he threw himself into his faith, his work, his passion for music, WWII history and the Tarheels. He is survived by his beloved sister, Lisa Swain, and his even more beloved pet dog (it's ok, Lisa understands), Spanky. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. at The Assembly, 2100 North 2nd Street, Cabot, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at Noon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Pathfinder, Inc., Attn: Linda Curtis, P.O. Box 647, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72078. Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, Jacksonville, Arkansas 501-982-3400. An online guestbook is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com.
