Helen C. Carrington, 94, of Rogers, Arkansas, gently embraced the arms of Jesus on May 9, 2018 at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. Her hand was being held by her daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter as she made her heavenly transition. Helen was born December 30, 1923 to Edward and Hazel Clickner in Hutchinson, Kan. Helen was a graduate of the University of Kansas and obtained her degree in Home Economics. She went on to teach students both at the college and elementary levels. Helen was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and served on the Rogers Panhellenic Committee. Chi Omega Sorority was very dear to her heart. On April 5th, 2018 she was recognized on her 75 years of membership in Chi Omega. She was very honored and humbled by this kind gesture. Helen was known for her words of kindness to anyone she came into contact with. Her smile was contagious. She was gracious, loving and had the gift of hospitality for both family and friends. Her love for others was evident in how she taught her grandchildren the important things in life. Helen's most rewarding fulfillment was being a mom, a grandmother and an "Amo" to her great-grandchildren. She always reminded them of her love for them by saying, "I love you, a bushel and a peck!" She was a member of St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. One of her greatest joys was serving as a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. Helen is survived by a daughter, Ann Dubbell and son-in-law Paul Dubbell; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth Dubbell Beck, Eric Dubbell (Carrie), Chris Dubbell (Kristin), Beth Welborn (Sammy), Paul Carrington (Amy) and Andrew Carrington (Angie); and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward Carrington in 1986 and her beloved husband, Bill, on February 1, 2018. They would have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on May 4, 2018. The family would like to thank the Innisfree Health and Rehab staff for loving her and treating her like family for the last 4 1/2 years and Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville for their compassionate care during her final days with us. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 1st, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church of NWA, Training Center Chapel, 1051 W. Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in memory of Helen Carrington to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org or JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10004. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Memories may be shared at Stockdale-moodyfs.com.
