Brenda Ann Boren, 65 of Springdale, Ark., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, September 8, 2018. She was born July 1, 1953 in Sacramento, Calif., to Dan and Jean McAlister. Brenda was a graduate of Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, a retired teacher and full-time seamstress, however her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Boren, and her brother, Alan McAlister. She is survived by her parents, Dan and Jean McAlister of Hope, Ark., two sons, Brant Boren and wife Danielle of San Diego, Calif., James Boren and wife DeAnna of Springdale, Ark., one sister Dana Roberson of Texarkana, Texas, companion Ernie Wehn of Springdale Ark., five grandchildren, Ellie, Rhett and Wesley Boren (Brant), and Brenner and Colter Boren (James), five nieces, Amity Jeffers, Shelly George, Brooke Alston, Jill Jones, Katie Flory, one nephew, Brock McAlister, and her sewing group who she met with in her sewing palace. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 11th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM with Reverend Barry Whedbee officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. Memorial Contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.
