Paul Maynard Sheffield
Known for his quick draw of the remote-control mute button and obsession to complete cross word puzzles, Paul Maynard Sheffield, 79, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, found a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — THE perfect get away — that he just couldn't resist.
Upon arrival of his destination, Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, Paul was lovingly reunited with his mother and father, Martha and Elmer Sheffield, as well as many other relatives he hadn't seen in quite some time. But before his departure, Paul was surrounded by his family and loved ones as they said their goodbyes and reminisced about his lifetime… his graduation from White Hall High School, his service in the Air Force, his 55-year marriage to Patty Dugger Sheffield, and his retirement after 34 years with the Cotton Belt/Union Pacific Railroad.
They fondly remembered how Paul loved to read the funny pages, cut up with the men in his Sunday School Class at Watson Chapel Baptist Church, eat candy (especially Smarties), and most of all have coffee and build camaraderie with his retiree cronies every day.
While his wife Patty, son David, daughter, Robyn and son-in-law Patrick Edwards, grandsons, Nathaniel and Stephen, and his sister, Velma Maxey, her daughter, Beth, and extended family and friends will miss him greatly, they know they'll join him later for one of THE best family reunions.
Please come visit with the family and share your own favorite Paul memories on Thursday, September 13, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Sons Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held immediately after visitation. Final family farewells will be given graveside at Memorial Park Cemetery.
