THORNTON Members of the Little Rock Air Force Base Honor Guard fold a U.S. Flag during a ceremony officially recognizing March 30 as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day on base Wednesday afternoon. The guard then presented the flag to Col. Mike Pierce, the only Vietnam-era soldier on active duty at the base. The U.S. Senate passed a resolution earlier in the month declaring the day to honor Vietnam Veterans which marked the 38th anniversary of the withdrawal of U.S. combat and combat-support units from Vietnam.
