Description

Amiable service is a sustaining virtue at 1620, where proprietor Evette Brady traces her roots to the dawn of fine dining in Little Rock as a kitchen apprentice three decades ago at the late and sanctified Jacques and Suzanne.
After stints at Le Casse Croute and Alouette's, two other fondly remembered eateries, she signed on as chef and general manager when 1620 was opened in 1990 by Paul Bash. She bought the west Little Rock restaurant in 1997 and continues her distinctive ways with bold flavors as executive chef, while nephew Timothy Morton takes on increasing kitchen prominence in his chef's role.
As central Arkansas dining horizons keep expanding even while recession looms, 1620 still ranks near the top for quality. It's in the top tier of pricing as well, with tabs likely to exceed $100 for two diners including wine - an occasion for that special night out or important expense-account dinner. (For bargain hunters, one main course - 1620 Chicken - costs only $12.)
