Description

Well, we don't exactly have a German restaurant yet. But we do have Mason's Bavarian Deli & Grill in the River Market, which goes some distance in filling that void, at least to the point where you can get a good homemade bratwurst.
You can also get a good homemade kielbasa and a good homemade Italian sausage (though they're looking at an imported Italian sausage they'll be able to sell a little cheaper).
Brats, Italian and kielbasa links are available on buns for $5.99 with home-style chips, fries or salad and a canned soft drink, or as part of a Specialty Links Platter ($9.99) with grilled sauerkraut (you can also have them put sauerkraut on your bun if you're so inclined), choice of fries, chips or potato salad and a drink. We asked for our brat with brown mustard and horseradish; they left the mustard off, and brat with horseradish may not be everybody's cup of condiment, but it worked for us.
The chips are fried on the premises, lightly salted if at all, crisp and fairly thick. They were out of potato salad so we didn't get to try that, but a pasta salad special with a tangy vinaigrette was worthwhile.
