Occasions to learn abound at art events

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the art scene in Arkansas.

Art is a journey, not a destination

Whether you are new to the art scene and looking to fill some empty walls in your home or ready to take down the posters and prints and surround yourself with original art that you love, collecting can be fun. With some purposeful buying and planning, your purchases can turn into a meaningful collection and if you’re lucky, maybe even an investment.

Tips to make art part of your life

Thinking about starting your own collection? The collectors and experts to whom we talked had these simple suggestions. 1. Buy what you love. Choose a work of art you’re passionate about and can live with for the rest of your life. 2. Buy the best quality you can afford in your price range and get the right price. Research what similar works sell for at auction or at past shows. 3. Buy original art. It is more rare than mass-produced prints and giclees.
