That's part of the story. The part the fans are bewildered about is the complete inability of the coaching staff to make adjustments during the game.

Arkansas is a mid major at best, middle to lower-tier of the SEC. The best they can hope for is an occasional breakout season once every other decade where they win the SEC West but lose the SEC Championship Game, but still get a decent bowl. Concentrating on the limited pool of in-state talent is a fool's errand.

Many said Bret Bielema's style of football would never work well at Arkansas precisely because there would never be the talent to make it work. For a ground game to work in the SEC you MUST be two deep in four and five star O linemen. Arkansas's best hope is a spread offense that doesn't require a lot of blocking where a talented QB and one or two talented receivers can make a difference (think Bobby Petrino, Tyler Wilson, Jarius Wright and DJ Williams). Arkansas will be stuck at the bottom of the SEC ladder so long as Bret Bielema is head coach. Anyone that expects anything else is ignorant or delusional.

The Hogs have some of if not the BEST facilities in the country!!! The amount of money thrown at that program is just obscene!! Forget the lure of playing in the best conference. Kids want to play for a winner and a chance at a national championship!
