Bobbie Odom Burroughs, 83, of Conway, Ark. passed away Monday, December 13, 2010. She was born July 22, 1927 in Gorgas, Ala. to the late John Berry Odom and Irene Sides Odom. She was a graduate of Parrish High School, Parrish, AL, and from Auburn University with a degree in education. Bobbie touched the lives of many children through her 30 year career as a teacher. She taught elementary school in the Memphis, Tenn. public schools and junior high English at Harding Academy of Memphis. She loved nature, flowers, and reading (especially the Bible). She was an excellent southern cook and enjoyed making baskets. Her greatest love was for her husband, children, grandchildren and her church. She was a member of the University Church of Christ in Conway. Prior to moving to Conway, she was a devoted member of White Station Church of Christ in Memphis. She is survived by her husband of 57 years John Burroughs; son, Jeff Burroughs and wife JaNella of Maumelle; daughter, Jill Burroughs of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Nathan Burroughs and wife Amanda, Emily Burroughs and Katherine Burroughs; sister, Inez Sumner of Jacksonville, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews. A private family burial will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs, Ark. A celebration of Bobbie's life will be held 4 p.m., Sunday at the University Church of Christ in Conway.
