Claudine Smith Stiles

Claudine Smith Stiles, 75, of Aubrey, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Memphis. She was born January 28, 1935 to Kirby and Gladys Smith at Oak Forest, Arkansas. Claudine is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Earl Stiles of Aubrey; daughter Natalie Gunter (Walter) of Marion; sons Ramey Stiles (Kerry) of West Helena, and Scott Stiles (Christina) of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Mary Beth Gunter of West Memphis, Sarah Stiles Stegall (Payton) of Jonesboro, Rebecca Stiles of Cleveland, Miss.; Caroline, Joshua and Claire Stiles of Jonesboro; and a sister, Mary Carolyn Jennings of Springdale, Ark. Claudine was a 1952 graduate of T.A. Futrall High School in Marianna, a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, and a life member of the Jr. Auxiliary. Claudine and Earl began their life together in a unique manner, as they were married in New York City on the Bride and Groom television show in 1954. She loved traveling, and made annual trips with her daughter and granddaughter. Claudine also enjoyed sewing, needlework, and gardening. She supported the performing arts and frequently attended the Lindenwood Christian Church concerts in Memphis and the Warfield Concert series in Helena. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and having her family together, especially on holidays. The family is saddened more because she did not live to see her seventh grandchild and first great-grandchild to be born later this year. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Marianna with visitation on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church at 59 South Poplar in Marianna, Arkansas; or the charity of your choice. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
