FLOYD EDWARD WOOD, 74, of Little Rock, was born in Fordyce, Ark. on Aug. 22, 1936 to the late J. B. and Lottie Dean Wood. He departed his life Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at Baptist Health in Little Rock. He had been in poor health for the past few years. At the time of his death he was owner and operator of the County Liquor Store and Restaurant. He had three faithful employees, Myron Raney, Carl Pearson, and Rex Starrett that ran the liquor store and helped with Floyd during his failing health. He was also an educator for 31 years in three different areas, bio/chemical classroom teacher, high school principal and then superintendent of school. He also worked in the American Overseas program serving as bio/chemical teacher in Kuwait and Taipei, Taiwan for four years. He did extensive traveling during this time and purchased many t-shirts. He was also an avid Hog fan. He enjoyed his life!! His educational degrees were obtained from UCA, Arkansas Tech College, and University of Arkansas. His doctoral was received online from California. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Skarda and husband, Randy of Hazen; three grandchildren, Seth Skarda and wife, Jaime of Hazen, Randa Saul and husband, Dare of Des Arc, Ross Skarda of Fayetteville; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Skarda and Ireland Kate Saul (born the day before his death); his first wife, Rowena Ridout of Des Arc who was very supportive of their daughter during his lengthy illness. Also, nieces, nephews and one very special niece, Lyndia Wood Medley who assisted in his final days. One special friend, Marcha Finger of Chicago, Ill., and his three Maltese companions.
