KENNETH "COWBOY" McADAMS, 77, of Jacksonville, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010. He was born on Oct. 14, 1933 in Judsonia, Ark., the son of Paul Francis and Orcelia Byrd McAdams. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kendra McAdams of Sherwood; a special friend, Maryann Morden; grandchildren, Donovan and Madison Montgomery, Ashley McDowell (J.D.), and Alicia and Abby McAdams; his former wife, Syble Taylor; three sisters, Mary Pauline Hardcastle (J.C.), Wilda Sue Gibson (Van), and Mary Frqancis Spurlock (Jewel). He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Kent Radel McAdams and Paul Raymond McAdams; and a sister, Irma Cothran. Kenneth served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years service. He was the president of the Central Arkansas Horse Show Association for three years, having also served as secretary for that organization for 10 years. He was an avid hunter who trained hunting dogs. Kenneth attended Harding College for three years. Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel of Bald Knob.
