On August 22, 1928, Oscar Claybron "O.C." Miller was born of Bernice Nelson Graves Miller and Edgar Dale Miller Sr. Bro. Miller departed this life on October 22, 2010. His parents preceded him in death along with his brother, Herman Graves. Educated early in the Little Rock School System and eager to serve, Bro. Miller joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 prior to finishing high school. In 1946, with an honorable discharge, Bro. Miller returned home to Little Rock where he enrolled in Dunbar High School. Upon graduation with the class of 1950, Bro. Miller continued his education at Dunbar Junior College and Philander Smith College. This education led to a career with the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System and later a well deserved retirement after 30 years of service. His love of gardening, made Bro. Miller proud to share his growth with family, friends and neighbors. He will be missed by many who will remember his bright smile, cheerful giving, spirit of truth and most of all his faith in Christ. His survivors include a daughter, Rosalyn Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas; a son, Reginald Muhammad (Diana) of Sauk Village, Illinois; two grandchildren, Jabari Muhammad of Illinois and Malika Miller of California; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two brothers: Edgar Dale Miller of Little Rock, Willie Darrell Miller of Wisconsin; three sisters, Edna Wiley of Little Rock, Carolyn Taylor of Delaware, and Sharon Miller Toole of Little Rock; countless other nieces, nephews, and extended family share in the bereavement of his passing. Bro. Miller was very proud of his children and shared in their accomplishments with their mothers, Ruth Juanita Stewart (Rosalyn), and Verdie Harris (Reginald). Making God his personal savior and sharing the Bible gave Bro. Miller immeasurable joy. He spent studying the word and often expressed the joy of his discoveries with others. Family hour will be October 28, 2010 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Lewis Street Church of Christ on October 29, 2010 at l0 a.m. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S. Battery St., Little Rock, Ark. 72202. "Only Heaven Can Serve You Better."
