Mildred "Millie" Hogg

Mildred "Millie" Hogg, widow of Norris R. Hogg, went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was born in Little Rock, August 5, 1912, to Marvin and Virgie Matthews. She taught piano for many years and was a charter member of the Music Teacher's Association of Central Arkansas. She served as organist for the Westminster Presbyterian Church and was chosen as Church Musician of the Year in Arkansas in 1989 by the Arkansas Federation of Music Clubs. She was still active in the Little Rock Musical Coterie, which she had joined as a junior member at the age of eight. She was a life member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and won many honors in piano competitions in the state. She was Past Matron of the Pulaski Heights Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and is a past Grand Organist of the state. She is also a past President of the Women's City Club of Little Rock. She was active in church circles, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Society Guild, Baptist Medical Center, Salvation Army Auxiliary, the Scimitar Shrine Ladies, U.S. Engineer's Wives Club, Little Rock Departmental Club, Briarwood Garden Club, Progressive Club, A.A.R.P. Chapter 34 and Lakeside Country Club. When she served as pianist for the Arkansas Girls State in Searcy, the girls lovingly nicknamed her "Grandma Millie." Survivors are two sons, Norris Robert (Bob) Hogg, II of Little Rock and his daughter, Catherine Anne Pranskatis and her husband, Chris, Thomas Marvin (Tom) Hogg and his wife, Lyn of Dardanelle, Ark., and their two sons, Thomas Victor (Vic) Hogg and his wife, Nancy and their two sons, Bryan and David and Jason Jacobi Hogg and his three sons, Joshua, Anthony and Samuel and special friend, Phylis Mitchell. There will be a general visitation at Ruebel Funeral Home on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Presbyterian Village at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Village or your favorite charity.
