George A. Rayner

GEORGE A. RAYNER, 72, of Little Rock, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Madison Health and Rehab. He was born Oct. 17, 1938, at Jacksonville, Texas, to George Arthur and Florence Hightower Rayner. He was a truck driver for many years, and was the co-owner of and accounts manager for Allstate Logistics, Inc., in Little Rock. He was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard and a member of the Choctaw Masonic Lodge # 617 in Choctaw. He was very involved with the Scotland Trail Ride each year and the Chuck Wagon Races, helping to provide food for those in attendance. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph A. Rayner; and a sister, Lois Shoemaker. Survivors include his wife, Betty Rayner; a daughter, Pamela Kaye Emerson of Lexington, N.C.; his brother and sister-in-law, Tommy Joe and Ann Rayner of Bee Branch; two granddaughters, Lauren and Sarah Emerson of Lexington; and his nephew, G. W. Hardee, and his grand-nephew, Logan Hardee, both of Morrilton. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, officiated by the Rev. Claude Jackson.
