Mary Ann Cox

Mary Ann Cox, 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011. Mary Ann moved to Florida in June 2009 to be near her daughters but lived in Sherwood for 35 years and still considered it as home. She was born on October 29, 1940 to William Thomas Pennington and Mary Alice Pennington Vasser. Mary Ann was a registered nurse and retired from Systemedic Corporation in April 2009 where she was a Case Manager. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Howard R. Cox. Her daughters Kimberly Ann Taylor (husband Colonel Jeff Taylor, retired) of Tampa, Florida and Kerri Dawn Cox of Navarre, Florida along with her grandchildren Austin and Lauren Taylor will forever cherish her memory. Mary Ann also leaves behind her mother Mary Alice Vasser of Sherwood, her sisters Betty Daniels (husband Neil) of Carlisle, Linda Gerrald of North Little Rock, and her brother Dr. Bill Pennington (wife Wendy) of Clemson, South Carolina. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117, phone (501) 835-3515. A graveside funeral service will take place, Monday, October 31st, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Howard.
