Willie Emerson

Willie Emerson, 82, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born September 20, 1929 in Rupert Community Clinton, Arkansas to the late Archie and Ora (Pickelsimer) Emerson. Willie was a member of Friendship Baptist of Clinton and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Elizabeth Ann Emerson, two sisters, Laverne and Sybil, brother, Alvie. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Betty (Godfrey) Emerson, two sons, Richard Emerson and Billy Emerson both of Renton, Wash.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four brothers, Leon Emerson of Indiana; Bryce Emerson of Clinton, Ark.; Wayland Emerson of Clinton, Ark.; and Harlas (Doc) Emerson of Hector, Ark.; a very special ex-daughter-in-law, Suzy Emerson, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Matthew Casteriano, Caleb Casteriano, Brandon Emerson, David Emerson, Jennifer Jones, and Cristy Casteriano. Honorary Pallbearer: Ricky Emerson. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Friendship Church Rupert Community with Brother Lyle Koone officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
